Sixth Avenue

1902 September – Robert Harrison wrote to Board of Works “re stumps placed on block 80 264a by ward crew.” The Board ordered the ward crew to take them out. i

1906 November – The Board recommended 3-plank sidewalks on 6th Avenue from Park Drive west for 600 feet for $80. The south side got the sidewalk for 400’ west from Park Drive under foreman G.H. Blair and the work was completed on 18th December. ii

1909 February – 6th Avenue is cleared and graded from Semlin to the City Limits. The work was completed on 12th June. iii

1909 June – 6th Avenue was cleared and graded from 200’ east of Clark Drive to McLean Drive. The work was finished on 23rd July. iv

1911 September – Board of Works approved 200’ of planking on 6th Avenue from Semlin to Lakewood Drive for $200.1

1912 February – These houses on 6th Avenue received their sewer permits this month: 1602 (Mr. Heath), 1606 (Mrs. Lamourtine), 1614 (C.Tomlinson), 1624 (F.Rippon), 1634 (Wm. Riley), 1808 (J.H. Jess), 1867 (H. McAnnich) and E.C. Walsh on lot 14 blk 146D (6th & Victoria).v

1912 June – 6’ concrete sidewalk is proposed for both sides of 6th Avenue from Semlin Drive to Commercial Drive at a cost of $4,380.00 with the city paying $706.42.vi
